BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
After a four-year absence, we are
pleased to welcome back a valuable member of our company’s family.
Michael Webb has returned as Manufacturing/Project Engineer.
In his new position, Webb plans, develops and conducts studies
relating to the improvement of equipment productivity, process
capability, material handling, methods and process improvement, and
building projects. And he leads new equipment research,
justification, design, acquisition and implementation as directed by
our Vice-President of Ice Cream Production, Cathy Nobriga Kim.
From
2003 to
2005, Webb held the position of Plant Engineer here at Roselani Ice
Cream. He then returned to his home state of Vermont and
two-and-a-half years at Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Ice Cream Company
headquarters and a year-and-a-half at General Electric Aviation.
“Employment in Vermont has fallen off
like much of the rest of the country, so good opportunities are hard
to find. When I found that Maui Soda/Roselani were willing to take
me back into their ‘ohana, there wasn't too much to think about.
‘Winters in Vermont’ on one hand or ‘Living on Maui’ on the other.
Being back here allows me to apply all that I had learned about ice
cream in my 11+ years at Ben & Jerry’s to the processes and
equipment at Roselani. My goals, as they were before, are to make
Roselani more profitable, more efficient and innovative now and into
the future,” says Webb.
Before first arriving on Maui in 2003, Webb was already a
nine-year veteran of Ben & Jerry’s. Now, he brings a total of almost
30 years of engineering and maintenance experience to his new
position at Roselani Ice Cream. During his previous tenure, he
oversaw the installation of Roselani’s upgraded automatic ice cream
filler, an advance that increased the plant’s production efficiency
to meet sales growth.
Webb lives in Kihei with his wife and son.
